When clicking Genesis 9 people in the shop, it shows tons of products that aren't people.
When clicking Genesis 9 people in the shop, it shows tons of products that aren't people, like clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc. It's annoying to have to sort through it all just to see Genesis 9 people. Also, there is no male or female filter, so it takes even longer to find products, in this case G9F or G9M, that I need.
It would be great if the shop could be modernized to 2021 or 2022 standards, with highly advanced system that lets us find produts with absolute precision, even with user added; approved, tags; this means a user like me can add a custom tag to a product that needs to be there, the tag would make finding that product easier. Also, organizing people by ethnicity, sex, height, weight, age, skin tone, etc. The goal is to make it extremely fast for people to find precisely what they're looking for.
Let's say I'm looking for an African American character, between the height of 5'2 and 5'8, with a weight of 180, and medium skin tone.
Let's say I'm looking for a trans character, between the height of 5'2 and 5'5, with a weight of 130, and dark skin tone.
See where I'm going with this? The shop needs to be modernized. The shop needs to be programmed to match the characteristics each product has, so they can be found extremely fast.
Comments
I doubt the level of specificity you want would be possible, but comments by Daz people do suggest that the search results/categorisations are being worked on.
With 32 Genesis 9 people out of 384 items, you would be able to instantly find what you are looking for if Daz could be bothered.
Yeah, the "People" tag should only be put on products that actually included "People"...
I'd rather they left the clothing in that section and created further categories for characters and clothing, to be honest. That way you don't need to go into a clothing specific category just to find outfits for G9.
Leaving clothing there, means leaving the countless of separate texture packs as well... Accomplishes practically very little improvement...
Genesis 9 People -> Characters and Genesis 9 People -. Clothing and accessories (or whatever the main Clothing on is called is) subcategories is what I'd like, since it doesn't make sense to me to separate clothing from the base figure it's intended to be used on.
You can already get close, when you select "People and Wearables" from the top and use the filters to narrow it down to "Genesis 9", but when one is actually looking for characters, one cannot get rid of Clothing, Clothing separates, Texture packs for clothing, Poses, Expressions, Hairs... etc ad infinitum...
Once I tried finding G8F figures at 120 items per page, and less than 20% of what was shown did actually have "People" in them.
The store search has always been lacking. Perhaps now that we are less housebound, Daz will finally be motivated to improve the website.
I guess it's safe to say that we have a difference of opinion on how the store should be laid out. Which is fine I guess.
I agree but for weight it would be hard to calculate since muscle weighs more than fat a fat character would be calculated as even heavier than they look. AI could be good for suggesting sliders if we are too far off than intended if we're going for realistic proportions
Instead of weight bodytypes and waist, hip, and everything size could be good
I wish they'd tag every item with separate "item_category" and "item_compatible_with_category" and let us search for "item_category=Genesis3" or "item_category=Genesis9 and item_compatible_with_category=Clothing" and get more appropriate search results. And don't include compatible via auto-fit or customer finagling as being compatible with.
Even if they did do something like this (and in my opinion this is actually how the current store works), I don't think you'll ever completely get rid of items for a previous generation showing up without excluding bundles like the MSO Ravenna for Genesis 9 one, which had content for Genesis 8 Female in it.
Ah, yes. "and NOT Bundle". Uh, reminds me of a movie.
I would be stoked if clicking on most items actually showed a category. Unless I do a search for something specific--and sometimes even then--pretty much everything shows up categorized as 3D Models > [People/Places] > Vendor. The "Vendor" path just links to the list of published artists, but this happens even with Daz Originals. I can't figure out why it even exists, because it provides zero information and leads to nothing a person might be specifically looking for.
