Missing Asset Files

Many of my assets no longer work, I recieve a message saying that a file can not be located. I have tried reinstalling the assets to no avail, is there any other solution to this?

You'll need to provide more information to get any help. e.g. How you install assets, which assets are young getting this error on and show the screenshots of both the error message and filesystem if you can.

  • Most likely the content directory set in Daz Studio does not match the content directory in your installer, or if you are installing through Daz Studio itself there may be an issue decrypting the files after download. We need a lot more information (the error, what you are seeing in the content pane - and which you are using, your installation method, your content directory set up) to be able to help.

  • I will have to compile a list as its spread out over many assets. As for my directory, it is as Daz set it on instalation, i have changed nothing. I use Daz Central and the install function in Daz it self.

That will probably be the issue then - you should probably only use 1 install method. Mixing and matching two methods often leads to issues.

  • Well it happens that one method or another is required for difrent installs. For instance somtimes content does not show up as avalible in Daz Studio, i have to then go into daz Central and find it in the list there install it, then it becomes avalible in Daz Studio to be installed.

Are you aware that Daz Central and installation from Daz Studio are totally independent, i.e. if you have it installed both from Daz Central and inside Daz Studio you will have it installed in 2 different places. And the installation from inside Daz Studio will take priority whether it works or not.

Installing inside DS is the only method that doesn't work with all the products and that is because it uses non-traditional location for the installations.

If one uses DIM or DAZ Central to install the products, one is better off never logging in to DS to keep DAZ Connect inside DS from making a mess of the installations.

That sounds wrong, and suggests there is an issue somewhere. Certainly if it does actually force you to instal through DS having installed through DIM/Daz Central.
