my mouse won't select any limbs to move

What have I done wrong I can't seem to select anything on my character. If I click an arm for example it doesn't do anything like give me the usual bend or twist etc options on the right. I must have accidentally selected something here, how do I rectify this please.

    Are you using the Node Selection Tool (looks like and arrow)? Go to the Tool Settings pane and make sure the Node Selection Mode is not Root Only. Set it to Root Node First instead.

    If you are using the Universal Tool, there is a similar setting in the Tool Settings pane.
