pinning dforce items?

I know this was a thing on Poser with cloth simulation but I don't know if Daz has something similar.

Say I want something to drape a blanket from a wall, but if I used dForce alone it would just fall to the floor. So how could I pin it to the wall?

this is just the only example I could think of I'm not in the market for any blankets on walls

  • You can use an object precisely aligned so that one of its vertices matches one of the vertices of the cloth (the dForce Magnet product will set this up for you) or you can use the Geometry Editor to create a new, one or more plygon surface and set its Dyanmic Strength to 0, or you can add a dForce Weight node to the object and then use the Node Weightmap Brush tool to set the influence weights map to 0 for the point (or points) you wish to pin.

You can weightpaint to exclude some vertices from simulation.

But what I would usually do is to add some primitives with enough geometry, e.g. a sphere and then use that to hold the object in place. You want the obejct to include the part of the mesh you want to keep, so when simulated these verteces will stay inside.
