I had no idea she was still alive surprise

not a bad innings, Rest in Peace heart

  • I remember the name, but I wouldn't have been able to recognize her in a movie.indecision

And regarding the comment "I had no idea she was still alive.", that tends to happen a lot regarding old retired people.  Hopefully though, they are relieved at being out of the limelight and have some peace at the end of a successful life.yes

    Condolences.

I've never saw her pictures or movies that I know of, but I know her name as oft repeated as a standard of beauty when I was a kid, even though her career was already finished (I think it was).

English speaking audiences would probably best know her for Solomon and Sheba.

Or perhaps 'Beat the Devil' with Humphrey Bogart.

What TV show was the main character always going on about her?... Something from the 70s...  I had no idea who she was... it took me years to finally see her in something.

My local news just announced her death. She was one of the true Hollywood/European Glamour Goddesses of my childhood. And then they listed her other accomplishments after her acting in the photography and other arts. I wish her peace.

I think her last name was a mouthful.  I think she mainly was in movies before my time?

It was an early 70s show and I think that same show is why I heard of her. Maybe it was Rowan & Martin? Or Dean Martin's Celebrity Roasts? I seem to think it was him always mentioning her. I don't think it was Laugh-In or The Smothers Brothers.

I think you might mean a different Italian actress.  Anna Maria Albergetti (...in a taxi, honey).

From the old Mary Tyler Moore show.

when I first saw this thread that also came to mind and I cannot recall which show either, obviously something we saw in Australia too

I keep thinking of The Goodies and their Bianca Jagger cutout and it was something similar along those lines

  • Oddly, I only real enounter I had with the name (that I noticed at least) was a site-gag in one of the Looney Tunes cartoons, where (I tihnk it was) a character in Venice is speeding along a canal, and runs headlong into a low opening where there is a bridge over the canal, and above the opening it says "Ducka you head, lowla bridgida!"  For years, I thought that was simply them having fun with how their language sounded to American ears.... then I saw this thread and was like, "Wait, that was actually somebody's name?!?"  laughlaughlaughlaugh

That's exactly what people say when about me.devil

I don't recall the name, but she certainly looks familar. This looks like something she starred in that I'd watch. A beautiful woman, may she rest in peace.
