A Gift From Odin - Viking Mega Bundle Savings...

Jeah, right... Already bought it yesterday, but there was no message and in the forum another thread shows me this message should have been displayed since january 11th. But that's not why I'm here... I am here because this is the third time in a row that I get those discount saving message after I bought what the saving is for. indecision This is not a verry nice situation, since the message say's "as a thank you"... (...like the others before) I mean for real, 20% of the 57 bucks I spend on the Mega Bundle are around 10-11 dollars. With the other two situations before I think that makes a difference. So I thought: "Why not get Gifts that really matter for a customer?!" ... like a 10 $ gift card or store credit bonus for the next shopping spree?! I mean that's not much, it's even less than getting 50% of the/a bundle and get the extra 20% on it. This would be more than twice that amount. And, the money is spend here too... So if it would be possible to "give up" these "gifts", that were three times in a row more like a hit in the face, I would do it...

Anyone else having this customer experience the last few months?!

By the way, I am not complaining about the price I had with the Mega Bundle... It sure was nice, even if I don't really use the Viking stuff...  It's all about the hit in my face, because a discount only counts for something i bought right before I got the message. But I think that has something to do with the fact that I did at this point had bought enough of the latest Viking stuff... That makes it hilarious by the way, since i do not really spend much on these things... cryinglaugh

Have a nice day folks and let us know if these strange happenings happen to you too...

I believe you get that banner if you own the items that you get for free with the bundle. So if you owned them prior to the bundle you would get both banners to save the cost.

I think I know what you mean - I also got that orange message that popped up on the post-payment page offering me a discount off the item I literally just bought.  I guess it's just one of those oversights where a discount for a product should not get triggered by the purchase of the product itself.

Can't really complain as there have been plenty of other sales and discounts that I have taken advantage of recently.

  • You got the free items with the bundle, right? So now that you own the items you just got for free, you see the coupon they gave for people who already owned the items and didn't have any free items to claim they didn't already own. It would have been less confusing if they made people who weren't eligible when the coupon first started to remain ineligible, but if people only had one of those items left and purchased it before getting the bundle, they will become eligible.

No, its more like they "say": "You’ve gathered quite the collection of Norse-inspired Items!"
I have not many of those. Or should I say I had?! cryinglaugh

What I mean is also: "it is intended as a gift or reward for something...", but I get no reward at all, just because I'm not to much into this stuff and wait often for discounts that match my wallet. Just the truth... I would love to buy more "current things", but they are often just way to expensive. The 57 $ buy was without any 20% extra saving here... In that case I would have saved a little more and would have only payed around 45 $. This is for sure important for one or the other customer here I guess. My thought here is, that this is not verry "customer friendly" and not really funny or alright at all. And that is just the case because there is no reward for those people who still bought a (Mega)Bundle. It makes no sense at all to get this message. Some store credit or a gift card code would match the criteria by far more as a gift or reward for buying the latest stuff... Even another free product, that would match the "20%" Daz already planned with would be better than just get such a message and think... "nice one...(AGAIN)" surprise

These Items ALL of the buyers got! Don't forget that fact... The system surely is the problem, that I agree on. It's in my cases just very frustrating if this happens again and again...

  • The items in the "Viking Assets" section are what I'm talking about, those are not new items, so some people would have already purchased them before this sale ever started.

Okay okay... I get now what you mean. But nobody forces anyone to buy this stuff right?! They choose it instread of waiting! That is another situation. The situation is that a customer buys something, without seeing a reduction for a price and afterwards the customer get's this message. Not once, not twice but three times in a row! One time with "the newest" genesis 9 and in this case it was even multiple times for the bigger bundle, that had nothing more to offer that would have been worth it, since most of the items the customer bought already. (...like with the voss hair, that I imagine everyone or like 90% of the customers already had...) What is this?! These are major mistakes and yes, the people should talk about it, so these things change for the better... Let's be real, Daz want to sell things, so it's in their interest to keep the customer happy and "nice"...
The thread is kind of a "reminder" and "check" how many people run into these strange situations, that are quite uncomfortable for the buyer. A company "wants" to archieve or create a better or even the best experience for the customer right?! So why not talk about that... since it's the main topic here... not if someone bought exactly these items that now are free to get because some did just not and find it therefore really nice to get them. These items are intended as an incentive, like the "gift or reward" too! But in cases like this it makes the customer "sad/mad/unhappy/frustrated" and so on... That is the topic here... (the situation is just, like I said already, hilarious...

but also really sad... oh... man I'm so sad... the third time... and i could make use of an store credit... maaaaan... crying

Feel me?! I am a human being... I have feelings! blush

I keep teling DAZ to stop having sales and just price things normally. That way people don't complain when it goes on sale again and they lose a couple of dollars.

Sarcasm aside, it doesn't bother me the few times this has happened. I have gotten some great deals over the years, so I just chalk it up to experience

    Customer: *buys product.

Daz: Congratulations on your purchase! Here's an offer that allows you to buy the product you just bought cheaper!

    ....

Do I really need to say that this should never happen?

Ignoring the cost of the items needed to qualify for the offer. But if soemone already has most of them buying the last, geting the offer, and then buying the bundle might be cheaper. However, the details were on the offer page.

The details were not on the page, that's the problem. It didn't say anywhere that owning all the free items would give you an extra discount, people just figured that one out on their own.

That is not the point! One has to see it as an external case. For several products there were rewards that made clear "you bought this and that, and as a reward you get..." and there was another, nice to have feature or something someone really could make use of. In this case the script/function or variables did not really match up with it. This "error" or "mistake", however you wanna call it, had more likely to do with the fact that the reward/gift aimed at ensuring that enough nordic products had been bought. In my case, I had nearly none, so I did not got the reward percentage extra, but it was triggered then again because I bought all the stuff, including the older, free ones, that, I assume, triggered the reward that then again could not be used. The sad, frustrading and kind of unacceptable aspect of the situation is here that this happens at least since the release of Genesis 9. My best guess is, that it would be even a by far longer period of time... But I know just for sure that it happened very often since the Gen 9 release. I felt like it was just like a bunch of  adds that again and again said "buy the bigger package..."
I just suggest, when there is another way (or could be in the future), to reward the customer in a more customer friendly way. It's not to hard I imagine to give someone a gift card coupon as a reward, if a reward is intendet. So basically everyone who buys stuff could use it for "Daz originals" or whatever they like. Another way would be to give an extra product on top. Just 5 or 10 with the new, fresh stuff, that nobody has, and then it would be also a real reward/gift. But there are several more ways, like getting a code just for daz originals, getting a code just for specific genres... So Daz would give the "discount" price percentage just in another, more as a gift or reward manner to the customer that may bought something "more/special". And on top of that, without this "the shit hits the fan" outcome... I would guess there are a lot people that would prefer a real gift over this message that hit's just in the face "your loss..."...

The freebies were a reward for buying the bundle. People who already had the potential freebies got an extra discount on the bundle instead. Having puchased the bundle and received the freebies you then owned them and so received the extra discount and message. It might have been better to have had the discount go to a fixed group seelcted before the offer started, but at least this way people were able to puchase the last item then didn't own and get a more-than-compensatory discount on the bundle.
