in Daz Studio Discussion

I recently installed a hair product.

When loading all went well, appears etc.

However when trying to apply colors (mat file) I get an error message see log.

Log mentions  Unexpected exception in CloudFIle::lookupFromDb: Unable to connect to the database

What is Cloudfile?

    How was it installed? I would think that CloudFile was an object in the code, with data and functrion members - lookupFromDb( some parameters ) would be one of its members. That might indicate that the system thinks it was isntalled through DS itself, or it may just be checking to see if it was (or it may use the same methods and data structures either way). It sounds as if there is an issue, permanent or intermittent, in connecting to PostgreSQL.

    THank you for replying

    Product was installed manually.

    But you are correct , whenever I start Daz  (either  one daz 21 or daz 15) I get a Postgre error message.

    Has been going on for years, but until now has not presented a problem

    I can color it manually, thank you again

    If it was installed manually it shouldn't be blocking - perhaps unless it is a Hierarchical preset and needs to check it is being applied to the correct figure.

    Adjusted textures manually using artists textue file.

    Less work than uninstalling.

    Truly sorry to have been a bother today, you and I have spent the day together.

    Just noticed something.

     In another thread  I am having problems with the Batch Pose Converter.

    As part of the problem sent a log file. 

    In reading it today discovered the line regarding  Cloudfile unable to connect to db.

    Only thing new recently. started my 36 My Library.

    So again, what is CloudFile

    I think that does rely on the metadata from the database, so not having PostgreSQL running/connected might well be the root of its issue.

    If you do a seach of this forum Cloudfile is mentiones in other thread!!!

    After awhile straightened out the Postsgre problem....still no help
