Empty folders

I used DIM to install all of the content that I purchased from DAZ. But in some cases, it created some empty folders. I had some textures resource files for example. I figured when they were installed, that I would be asked where I wanted to put them. But I wasn't. Later I discovered that a folder had been created in MyDazStudioLibrary (not sure if that is the exact name of the main folder) even though the textures were just textures and not a Daz Studio product. So, can you suppress the display of empty folders?

Texture resources aren't Studio files, they are for use paint programs like GIMP, PaintShop Photo or PhotoShop.
Thanks. I know....but the DIM created an empty folder for them in the content library.
I am also finding that there are some clothing folders under MyDazStudioLibrary that have icons, but they don't seem to do anything. I have to find the same item under the DazStudioPoser library and apply them. Maybe the icons are just fro applying the materials after the clothing is added? (But the MAT files are typically located in a subfolder UNDER the clothing item on the Daz side.)
You can delete the empty folder. You can generally arrange the content as you like as long as you refresh the database inside Studio.
Yes, that's right, you've discovered the old way of setting up Poser objects with D|S materials — the objects themselves were in Poser format, in the Poser runtime, and the D|S materials were in native D|S script format, in the D|S Content location. Many, but not all, of these will be old products; proper native-format D|S objects and materials all in the same place were not common until D|S4 and the first generation Genesis figures.
A folder will be empty inside the DS interface if it doesn't have files in any of the formats meant to be displayed, but it may have ther files -- in this case, texture resources. You can install those to a separate location if you like.
Yes, I found what SpottedKitty and Fixmypcmike said to be true. The folders look empty, but they have things in them. If I move the textures resource folders outside of the Daz Studio folder, will the Content Manager freak? Or will it adjust itself? These are texture resources only. They are not materials that belong to any product. They are in a folder named after the vender. I think her name is Diane Rooney or something like that.
Thanks.
CMS won't care, as they aren't visible inside DS anyway. The only issue will be that DIM will be unable to uninstall or update them automatically, but since the files are all in one folder that isn't a big deal. What I do is set up a second content folder just for resources like textures and brushes, and have DIM install them there.
Apart from the DIM issue noted, nothing will happen because nothing in your content references those textures... yet.
Note that if you do this wrong, you *will* shoot yourself in the foot quite spectacularly — if a file is used for a texture, it must be in a folder inside a /Runtime/Textures/ folder that D|S knows is a content location. Don't just move the files to any old location anywhere else on your computer, it must be somewhere D|S knows how to find it.
