The way [buckling is] it's described in the dForce page on this forum is a bit convoluted; iv'e been trying to grasp the concept.

can it be said that that "buckling stifness" is just how much a face resists bending?

Buckling and bending are different - and it is quite tricky to describe buckling, but a bend is usually smooth while a buckle is a sharp fold where soemthing has collapsed on itself and then bent sharply at the fold while a bend is a smooth deformation.

yeah, and buckling and bending are quite tricky to distinguish, visually

because a low bend stifness can result in a sharp fold, something similar to a buckle (say a silk cloth draped over a thin wire)

but i get the picture - think im better off just retesting all the dForce params again and see what they do!

    thanks!
