Organizing files?
I just installed the latest DAZ Studio because Unreal Engine forced my to use Windows 10 instead of Linux.
It's nice how D|S just need my account to suck decades of stuff into it. Somewhere around here I have the original DAZ Dragon and Vicky 1.
But I can't find anything.
I'v spent a hald hour trying to find Pedatron's 14MU hazmat suite which I KNOW is in there somewhere, because I loaded it before, But now it's like a roulette wheel of "where is it?"
I decided to just download it manually since back in the day before the Poser/Daz breakup I developed a nice system where I installed every figure in it' own folder with it's own runtime. This let me organize everything. I ever figured out how to make work with Poser 4 ProPack.
Now, not only does 14MU NOT show up in Poser, but I can't find it Daz to export an OBJ.
I don't suppose there is a place I can just download my old EXE files, or the Poser safe versions I used to have?
I guess I've got to pull my cd'd out storage to get back to some form of sanity.
Unless someone can HELP!!!!
I can't even count everything under "Lost & Found", and on my 4K screen that heading goes on for 4 pages!!!

Well, issues with the Lost & Found aside, if you have that installed then it should come up when using the search bar since that works with the names.
But the default search uses the database and older (ancient) products probably don't have the metadata for it. When one changes to search for files, the stuff should be found.
Hmmm, well I figured even the oldest of assets would still log the product name and asset name in the database even if everything was without a defined category and just dumped in Lost & Found. If they don't even have that then I guess doing a search in Windows Explorer would probably be the only way to find stuff then :(
No need to search with the windows explorer, one can tell DS to search for files instead of in the database
It was easier to find my 25+ old CD backups.
I'm going to start rebuilding for Poser.
Any tips for those of us who preer to organize things ourselves. I noticed Daz no longer supports OBJ files in their runtimes.
I just found out my lifetime subscription to Poserworld ended in 2021.
