David Crosby of Crosby Stills and Nash has passed away. Sadly, the Hippie generation is slowly dying out. He once said of the 1960s that we got most of it right except for the drugs.

Loved this album so much when I was a teenager.  CSN&Y was one of my favourites.

I always appreciated their music even though I didn't like it that much - mainly due to the fact that I didn't like Neil Young's singing style. My friends used to tease me that they didn't understand how I could listen to Bob Dylan all day and enjoy his voice but not Neil Young. Just personal tastes. No doubt that CSN&Y were a major influence and presence in both popular music and the social zeitgeist of those times.

Neil joined the group later. Most of their popular songs were released before Neil. In fact, I don't know that I could name a single CSNY song, but am fairly familiar with CSN's music.

I guess, looking back, I always associate Neil Young with them. Maybe because I never took much notice of Buffalo Springfield. I was a fan of the Hollies (UK band) in my early teens and Graham Nash was with them then.

+1. Such great music. In 1971 my soon-to-be first husband and I played their cassette, until the car stereo ate it. Although After the Gold Rush was a solo 'album', it introduced me to the group.

Condolences. I'm guessing I've heard 2 or 3 of their hit singles many times, and liked them, but I can't recall the name of any of them. I think one may of been, "So Much Time Wasted on the Way"; which is a great song, but I'm not sure if that's the title.
