Two sets of bones (ghost bones) ?

I accidentally turned on the "Ghost bones" option in the "Joint Editor" and saw something like this. This is what a character looks like after using one free body morph i find.

Another well-known and proven body morph, very similar to the previous one, looks like this:

Does this first morph have any bug I should be concerned about? It looks quite disturbing.

What exactly are these Ghost Bones? From what I've noticed, they don't respond to mouse clicks.

Is there any way to remove them or just ignore them, turn off preview and pretend they don't exist?

Regards

    I don't know.

But my guess is that it shows that your character isn't adjusted to shape.

    How does it pose?

The character is in the starting pose. Only the morph has been added. And those working gray bones are well folded. Only the red ones, visible only when "Bone ghosting" is on, I don't know what they are.

And should they fit the character? Maybe they don't have to? When I click on the normal "gray" bones, its red counterpart also highlights. But when I click on red bone, nothing happens.

You didn't really say if you can pose the character without distortion.

If you can then I think you are fine.

And maybe someone comes by and says what the purpose of these ghost bones are.

  • The "Bone Ghosting" option (which I wasn't aware of) shows the memorised position of the bone (i.e. the starting point for Adjust Rigging to Shape and for deciding what has chnaged in an ERC Freeze) - it gives feedback on what has been changed from the memorised state, by manual editing, Adjust Rigging to Shape, or any other method/tool.
