Problem with iWave's Stockings for G8F. Looking for help.

Nylon Stockings for Genesis 3 and 8 Females | Daz 3D

Firstly, I love the product. It has everything I want, but sometimes I have an issue. After being in a scene for a while with different poses applied, the stockings get a weird blotchy effect that I can't seem to move. I've had it happen on several models, in several scenes. It will start off just fine and then go odd. Any idea why it does this? Or how to fix it? Please? Sample images attached. It's the same model, in the same scene. No changes to lighting or environment. The NoFault image is an earlier render, the Fault image is a few renders later.

I did post this on the products page hoping for a response from iWave, but you folks are usually pretty good with solutions.

I have those and use them a lot. If I remember off hand, that's just where the stockings clip the leg when posing. The stockings include quite a few morphs for adjusting them so try tweaking with those.

Yep, that was one of the first things I tried as I assumed it was some sort of poke through, but I still can't get it to go away.

When you say it starts off fine and then goes blotchy, can you pinpoint what's changed? Lighting? Camera?

Certainly not the lighting. In the example I posted, I had re-posed the model, but lighting and environment hadn't changed. It was a different camera, but no matter where the camera moves in the scene, or which camera is used (there are several) the blotchiness now remains, even if I re-pose the model. It's a head scratcher.

I have seen that as well, and I belive it's related to lighting.  IIRC, I saw it using Easy Portraits lights.  I'll see if I can dig up an old scene with them...

I found a scene where this happens.  I emptied it out and replaced the environment map with the blue background from the Day at the Beach Tutorial and have attached it.  The camera labeled Camera is set at 300 in z from the Origin.  With a zeroed G8F, the effect appears between 250 and 260 in z.

I'm a recent migrant from Poser, and iRay rendering and lighting still baffles me, so I'm interested in any insights folks might have as well... smiley

Interestingly, I found they render as expected in the latest public beta...

Also interesting. I've not downloaded the beta versions yet.

Yep. Can confirm that this fixes it... well, it did when my brain finally registered that I was supposed to be fixing the Glossiness Layer, and wondering why I couldn't find Offset Distance on the main stockings parameters. Again, TY Richard

I purchased that a long time ago and returned it because I never was able to get it to work. Maybe it's been updated but it was unusable for me. One of only 3 items I've ever returned from the many thousands I own. Maybe if it's been updated, I'd consider it again...
