Anyone heard any whispers of a forthcoming RSSY Hair Converter for Genesis 9, and/or know of any easy-enough tricks for getting longer hair (hair with bones) onto Gen 9 without losing the posing abilities?

this has a long hair template https://www.daz3d.com/sy-ultra-templates-for-genesis-9
Thanks. I'm not quite sure I understand how that product works, but I'll give the description another read when I'm more awake.
It's not meant for hair assets. These converters are a fair bit of work.
One good place to ask the question is in the clothing converter commercial thread, which is monitored by Riversoft Art
[Released] RSSY Clothing Converter from Genesis 8 to Genesis 9 [Commercial]
When you use autofit, you have a dropdown to select what kind of item it is so that it applies weight maps and rigging made for that type of items. SY Ultra templates add more options (and associated weight maps templates) to that dropdown.
In the description "SYTUG9 Long Hair Template" and I have a friend that uses it almost all the time on autofitting long, dforce hair and it works much better than the default autofit she says.
This template autofits whilst adding bones for posing the hair around the back and the shoulders. It's not keeping the original hair rig, but it does very good job instead of keeping the hair static after autofitting.
Thanks, everyone! This is really helpful.
I don't really understand the need for a converter. I usually treat hair as a prop and parent it to the head of whatever figure. The adjustment sliders associated with the hair are still present. I usually have to adjust the position of the hair so that it fits properly on the head, but that's not really a problem. What am I missing?
Oh, you might not be missing anything. I just feel like I've tried the method you're describing and ended up not understanding how to make it work. Maybe I've missed a step or something, I'm not sure. I'll definitely try that again once I'm done with the render I have going now. I'm on a tight budget, so being able to do things without an extra purchase would be ideal.
Thanks! I understand. Short hair can be effortless. Long hair often requires patience and fiddling. I like to think most any item can work with most any figure. I've found it's true to a point, but sometimes it's a lot of work.
There has been a whisper from RiverSoftArt that the hair converter is on the to-do list ...... just not done yet .
It's an unfortunate fact of life that it's easier to add things to the 'To Do' list than it is to actually do them. Hrrumph.

So true, Richard!
