Is there a [G9 hair to G8] convertor available?
I tried to follow this tutorial
but hit a snag at 11:20, as morph loader gave me the error "geometry didnt match, failed to create morph"

A simple way to use hair on other figures:
You might need to adjust the hair a bit once the figure is posed, but that usually works quite nicely.
Thank you, that worked.
A quick follow up question. When I try applying the hair shader to the G9 hair, I get an error. This never happened to me before with G8.
Do you think it's because my DS is version 4.12? Do I have to update to use G9 hair shader?
You say a shader, but I assume you mean a material. And if so what does it say on the material.
Some materials are listed H.Material meaning hieracical material, and these can only be apllied with the hair fitted to the original character type, and with the character selected, i.e. G9 for a G9 hair.
Yeah, what you mentioned must be material preset along with the hair product. Your case is a bit troublesome... Only non-hierarchical material preset could be directly applied to the selected hair. There's an icon in the upper-right corner of the preset, H.Material(s): hierarchical, Material(s): non-hierarchical. As felis said, you have to select the figure other than the hair before applying the H.Material. However, as your figure is G8, there'll be an error pops up cuz G9's H.Material preset will firstly check if the figure is a G9. So you have to change the node name in G8's Scene Identification to Genesis9, then the error will be gone... (You need to change the node name back to G8 afterwards otherwise most G8‘s presets will not work then)
Next step, you will find no material is applied to the hair... cuz you used such a way of direct parenting other than fitting, an H.Material preset can only work for a hair parented to the figure itselft. So you have to re-parent the hair from the head node to the figure's root node. Apply the H.Material and move the hair back to the head...
