Marvelous Designer Graphic tiling 'kills' normals

Hi, with MD10 I don't remember any problems with graphics and normals. I don't even remember thinking about the normals the fabric underneath would dictate the normals but, with MD12 it looks like I have to add normals to each graphic separately. That works okay, albeit tedious, but, the second I add tiling to the graphic the normal vanishes. See attachment. Anyone got any ideas what to do. In the past I would just cut the fabric but, I wanted to be 'smart' and just add a graphic.
