haven't been able to find the place to fix this...
I build this building starting with cubes at 0,0,0 the default position ...
the symetry of been able to build equally to the left and right with just change - and + is great...
but somewhere I moved it while working back and forth with other programs and saved it ... and now the building object has decided that it's zero point is about 1400 x away...
is there a way to reset this...
It's using it's own space instead of global space positioning....

  • I'm presently having the same problem.  I have an item I made that's stuck a metre above ground.  I could go back into my 3D authoring program (Blender), reset it back to ground level and re-import back into Daz but it would mean re-doing a lot of work with rigging.  There must be an easier way.

  • If it's a static mesh just export it as OBJ at the origin and then reimport it, using the same preset in both directions.

I think - though I haven't tested - that if you export as OBJ, making sure "Use existing " is checked under Groups, then use Edit>Figure>Geometry>Update Base Geometry and select your exported OBJ you should be able to use the Joint Editor tool to reposition the rig's origin and have everything work.

  • Thanks, I had been centering it and saving as a scene subset which wasn't working.

I finally figured that if it was the only object in the scene it would leave the surface names the same --- so moving it to zero and then exporting and importing worked... and it came back as one object with 6 materials... purple, green, white, lavender, glass, and metal.

it did throw away the tiling but that was an easy fix .... one step closer to having something to package for sale

but it is at zeros which will make more construction easier....

I'll try that on monday when I'm at work.  I have a helicopter model that's flying a metre above the ground when it's at a static (0,0,0) pose.  I'll let ya know.
