[making products for daz 3d?]

when I say product I mostly mean [stuff] for myself.

i'm not exactly a master at blender in the least bit (not great at all atm, but trying to learn) i know asking how to make daz products when i can barely use render is putting the cart before the horse but for the future, are there any tutorials on how things need to be done?

by products i mean clothes and accessories, [stuff] like that.

I am not aware of any tutorials in how to make products in general.

With clothing and accessories, you want to learn how to get them rigged to a character, potentially weightpainting and creating morphs.

Sickleyield (that is a PA here) has some guides and tutorials for some parts, but it is up to you to piece it together to a whole.

Mada (another PA) has some tutorials as well https://www.youtube.com/@MadadeLeeuw

For clothing you can get a good way if it is modelled to usse dForce. That is at least my way of doing it.

My suggestion is to start with something simple, and based on that, find out what you need to learn and grow from that.

You normally want to model towards a base character, unless you are making (corrective) morphs for a dedicated character.

You need to use a software package such as Blender. There are tons of tutorials on YouTube. For me, making basic objects isn't too hard and should be a snap once you get up to speed. I always got stuck when applying textures, never worked well. Some of the Adobe products can now do 3D, I've been meaning to look into that. I'm mostly interested in props, don't need another pretty girl.

Digital Arts Live has an upcoming course/class that runs over several weeks for content creation/rigging. It's taught by Esha: https://digitalartlive.com/plans/content-creation-for-daz-studio/

    The blurb says:

This course is specifically for :-

    • Artists that want to understand the G9 figure
    • DAZ Studio content creators that still experience hurdles in rigging.
    • Artists that want to have a high degree of control with altering existing clothing content.
    • Artists that would benefit from a fresh rigging workflow.
    • Someone who has always wanted to be a Published Artist at DAZ 3D selling their content.
    • Someone who would benefit by learning in a close group of artists with similar visions (and struggles) as you.
    • A modeler who doesn’t know how to rig their models

That's very broad. Pick something more specific as an accessory for instance and choose the best method to construct that thing you want to make.

People are throwing all kinds of things at you without asking you questions or you providing more specific information like your skill level.

What have you already done before asking questions? Have you already followed some Blender tutorials on how to model using Blender, etc?

Sometimes you can apply the same method of construction from one 3D application to another if they have the same types of building tools. ie you can try to use 3dsmax tutorials to build a thing but use blender to make it if you can create a plane primitive and extrude edges.

I have a YouTube channel, too!

But if anything I say differs from Mada, go with hers. She is the consummate expert on everything to do with clothing.

I don't make content (it is the complexities of rigging and UV mapping that put me off) but whenever I need to know how to do something that isn't obvious, I look to your channel (and DevArt pages) first. I bought utilities from this store to convert clothing from G3 to G8 and yet I always end up doing it myself while following your tutorial. Mada has a really useful one (for me) on dForce weightmapping.
