Flipped normals are black

Previous versions of DS have shown assets with flipped normals as black, others have not. In the past I've seen this with props, mostly from amateur modelers; like me. It is now more obvious and Im seeing it in Daz vendor items as well. I've used MJC's flip normals but I'm reluctant to start writing over anything but my own assets from blender. Is there something else that will let me flip normals from DS other than this (otherwise invaluable) script from MJC?

Check your settings, as it sounds like "backface lighting" has been turned "on", which is the default setting for it.

Edit > preferences > interface tab, about half way down that you will see the setting.

You still may try ALT SHIFT + G (Geometry Editor), select the corresponding polygon, RMB click in Viewport, then Menu - Geometry Editing - Flip Normal of Selected polygon ~ I ever used it to fix some old props with such a problem~

no, it effects some items, not all. I use backface off and on again; it doesn't change that, but thanks for the suggestion.
