Hair shown as wires

Hi, I have been having trouble with some hairstyles showing up as wire models (or whatever it is) and then not rendering correctly, showing the bottom layer okay, but then showing the rest as being almost invisible. I assume there is a simple solution for this problem? How do I get round this problem?

You mean Nvidia Iray drawstyle or Render (CTRL+R)? It's the typical looking of a strand-based hair in the viewport, with default parameters. If you CTRL+R, you could see the hair. If you wanna see the hair in viewport:
There should be a hair node under the scalp node in Scene pane, select it and in Parameters pane, switch on 'Preview PR Hairs' , set 'Viewport Line Tessellation Sides' to 2 or 3. You'll see the hair ~
Like this as below:
Hi, I followed it. "Preview PR Hairs" was already on and "Viewport Line Tessellation Sides" was at 3 and I cranked it up to 10, but the result is still the same.*
What is this hair product?
It is the "Corporate Hair" product. It didn't used to be like this. It was normal until only a few minutes ago.
"Preview PR Hairs" + "Viewport Line Tessellation Sides" will consume a lot of memory. You may close Daz, restart it and reload the hair to see if it's OK. Normally you don't need to switch on "Preview PR Hairs", and DO NOT set high value to "Viewport Line Tessellation Sides" (2 is enough for most of the strand-based hairs for a preview in Viewport), esp. if you don't have a strong PC~
Thanks. That could be it. My computer has been acting up recently, refusing to play ball with various programs, shutting them down, including Daz3D. Maybe it is age? Maybe it needs some sort of cleanup? No idea. My computers often get more and more clunky towards the end of their useful lives.
Understood~ Perhaps it's an old age PC's routine~ So be cautious when you manipulate these stuffs~
Not sure why it is like this. It is a "notebook" and just over two years old. If and when I replace it, which types of laptops would you say are most cost-effective for Daz3D? Daz3D is by far the most memory-intensive thing I use my computer for.
To be honest it's hard to tell... so-called 'most cost-effective" might bring you bad experience one day ~ You may check the system requirements of Daz Studio, it can make Daz run but cannot make you satisfied at the end of the day~~
