Where are the Genesis 8.1 essentials and base figure?

...I recently picked up a couple G8.1 figures and notice they installed to Library/People/G8F instead of G8.1F. When I tried to load "Moryen 8.1 an error popup appeard and checking the Logfile this is what it shows:

Apparently it is looking for a base figure and not finding one but I looked through the IM and saw nothing about  either a base G8.1 figure or G8.1 "Essentials" Either in the installed or ready to Download Tab (only G9 appears in the latter)

    If you wanna successfully load the H.Mat preset to G8 with no error, just change its node name to Genesis8_1Female, eyelashes to Genesis8_1FemaleEyelashes. That'll do ~~

    However, G8 has no corresponding surfaces/UVs to accept separate texture maps of Head and Body from G8.1, you have to create them on its Surface first ~ WP Guru ever made a tutorial for it. 
    But why not just use G8.1 or upgrade your 8.0 character to 8.1 ?cool That'll save much time~

    ...apologies it ended up being an issue of not being able loading the G8.1 character as I cannot find a base 8.1 figure,

    I replaced the original post to reflect this.

    Can't upgrade the character to 8.1 as it uses a few morphs transferred via GenerationX and Xtransfer so I'd have to recreate it totally from  scratch without the older morph/shape assets (and trying to avoid that as the character wouldn't look the same since the older morphs would be incompatible). The only 8.1 content I have are three 8.1 characters ,Spindle Fae, Pippy Fae and Moryen, the latter who's skin I would like to use as it is one of the few nice fair toned freckled ones I've seen.

    There is  another nice short tutorial someone recently (as in the last few days) posted here in the Forums which is shorter and made the transfer of materials look a lot simpler without having to involve the Geometry editor (a very painstaking process).

    You just wrongly loaded a body Shape Preset other than Actor of Moryen, or you should've first selected a G8.1 base figure in the scene before doing so ~

    No you wouldn't - the morphs would, as long as they didn't use base expressions, work normally on 8.1. In any event, as long as the character doesn't use the 8.1 UVs you can just save a regular materials preset after applying to 8.1, then do a copy/paste (after aplying the PBR SKin sahder if that is used) from the body or 8.1 to that of 8.0. If the 8.1 UVs are used then you would need to use the 8.1 figure, but that has nothing to do with using hierarchical presets.

    The only 8.1 content I have are three 8.1 characters ,Spindle Fae, Pippy Fae and Moryen, the latter who's skin I would like to use as it is one of the few nice fair toned freckled ones I've seen.

    OK, got it~ nearly everything could be transferred / converted in between them, it just depends...

    For using 2 separate head / body tex. maps of a G8.1 on a G8, as far as I know there should be no other way but rebuiding surfaces/UVs, rebaking textures maps, or using geograft. The 1st way only takes  7 - 8 mins then you'll have a G8.0 base figure with G8.1 Surfaces & UVs...but I always don't think it's necessary... I never use 8.0 now~~ Anyway, if there's a more perfect way, I'd really love to learn.. Thanks!

    ...part of the reason for this is I am trying to use an 8.1 a skin on an 8.0 character I found a very good tutorial by Gordig about how to do this. 

    BTW I found the base G8.1F. it's in G8F folder not the 8.1F where I would have expected it to be.

    That's the default location of it coming with Genesis 8 Starter Essentials product~ Any problem? In fact such a duf file may locate anywhere...
