What the heck with the missing morphs

I just spent weeks building a character. Weeks.
Last night I saved and closed and thought, "At last!"
I get up today and her body isn't there.
It's in the data folder, but Genesis would NOT load it or have it anywhere. Bringing it back in? "Dear Me Body already exists!" THEN WERE IS IT YOU STUPID PROGRAM?!?!
Rant over. I've already deleted and had to start ... <insert word>... over.

Any "duplicate formula" errors in the log? If so then that could be your problem.
No, it loaded fine. It's just the morph was completely missing despite being in the data folder. I have no idea what happened. It was working so well when I went to bed. Arrrgh. :-/
Are you "logged in" on Daz Studio? If so then something may have changed during the "metadata update" that runs after the application launches.
As far as I know, but being as I just started all over -and now Genesis is mysteriously missing her cheeks blow morphs... maybe it's my hard drive.
Just. ARRRRrrrRRRGHGGGGHGHGHGHG
no pic, no clue~
Are you sure it wasn't just hidden? Or using the wrong label?
Pretty sure. It wasn't anywhere in the model's list but it was there in the data folder. That's what I got.
And now Genesis's cheeks won't puff and suck in properly. Whatever happened it's a doozy of an issue and uninstalling her to reinstall isn't fixing anything.
What is a "model's list"? love it when there is a vague thread where they furnish you with barely any details. also "Dear Me Body already exists!" isnt a real error code...
what type of preset did you save it as in the data folder? Dsf?
if the morph was in your data folder as a .dsf, then it should load in Daz Studio, depending what you mean by data folder (im going to assume it's a data folder within your content directories).
You can open the .dsf in notepad to check the Label of the morph, and then search for the Morph label in Parameters tab. Then it should show up there. If you cant read the .dsf morph file because it's compressed, you can decompress using an unzipping software.
It isn't an error code, it's what the system was saying when I tried to bring the morph back in - because even though the model itself wasn't showing the morph anywhere it was still in the data folder. And the preset was "Dear Me Body".
"if the morph was in your data folder as a .dsf, then it should load in Daz Studio, depending what you mean by data folder (im going to assume it's a data folder within your content directories)."
That's what I'm saying. It was RIGHT. THERE. But would not load.
This was just a rant, anyhoo. So far in my diagnosis I've found that for whatever reason most of the morphs were saved under my name/Product - I have NO IDEA how that happened... Unless the "save updated morphs" feature does that, which would be a big disappointment. No I'm not loading DAZ to look up what that part of the dialogue actually says for this thread. It literally takes a long time. :-)
I'm currently in the Product folder deleting everything I recognize as not mine to reinstall.
The reason it saved to Your Name/Product is because that is the default, so you probably just accidentally saved Morph Asset without manually changing the 3 content directory options on the popup when you saved it. (That is very easy to do and happens to me all the time.)
Even so, if you did just leave the default Your Name and Product as options when saving, the morph would still show up in parameters as a morph for your figure because the morph would be in your content directory, and thus would be read by Daz Studio, as evidenced by the so-called error code you had when trying to "bring the morph back in" - whatever that means? (Im assuming you mean you used morph loader pro, using the 'Unique' option for loading morphs and got the 'Morph Already Exists' error)
Instead of ranting in future, should just ask a question about how to do it properly and provide detailed descriptions using precise language so people can say how to do it correctly.
