Irritating power pose issue.. (SOLVED - but no explanation for orignal problem)

Can anyone shed some light on this conundrum:
In order to use power pose on any G8 figure I first have to load a G9 figure, activate power pose, then select the G8 in question. If I don't do this, nothing but Base shows up when selecting G8.............?!

I don't think I follow.
For using Powerpose, I select a character, open the powerpose pane and start adjusting.
Shows up where? A screen shot or two may help (but if the figures need to be shown either clothe them or switch to a non-textured drawstyle).
Here you go - a visual representation from loading base G8F until being able to use PowerPose after adding G9 - it's as if PP is not initialized before being activated on a G9 figure..
...and I have tried to uninstall and reinstall both the G8 and G9 starter essentials..
I'm not sure why loading Genesis 9 would helkp, but I suspect the base issue is that a product you have installed has messed up the basic Gensis 8 metadata (not, sadly, an unknown occurence). Try reinstalling Genesis 8 Starter Essentials.
How are you installing content and are you logging in to DS?
I manually install and fire up install manager once in a while to check for updates - I am not logged in when using DS, and Richard I have reinstalled G8 Starter Essentials.. The weird thing is that loading a G9 fixes it every time
Have you refreshed (don't remember the actual command) the metadata in the database after you reinstalled the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials?
Nice one - will try that
Alas, refreshing metadata had no effect
RTry reimporting metadata - Content Library option menu (the lined button in the top corner, orr ight-click the tab), select Content DB Maintenance, check reimport Metadata, and in the enxt window check Genesis 8 Starter Essentials (I guess you are doing this anyway if you install manually).
Unfortunately this does nothing to eliminate the problem. I guess I will have to keep trying "stuff" - worst case scenario do a complete re-install with clean content directories as well. Dread this though, as I have A LOT of non-Daz assets :(
Update: Found a solution!
