Use Dforce on figure?

I'm experimenting with Dforce on a figure instead of clothing/hair.    Has anyone done this successfully?   Simply applying a dynamic modifier to the figure's geometry results in the figure collapsing like an empty bag:

If I remove the dynamic modifier from the geometry and apply it to the bones, I get this message:

Any help is appreciated.

What are you trying to achieve?

dForce is not a softbody solution, although some PA's have used it on selected body parts, e.g the breasts.

And if you apply dForce to the whole character, then of course it will collapse.

You can set gravity to 0 so it won't just fall to the ground, but any force on the body will cause a deformation.

I was hoping to use it to tumble a figure down a flight of stairs.   If that's outside the scope of what it can do, that's fine - I just wanted to know.

That requires soemthing like a rag-doll or hard(ish) body system, since the bones are rigid.

Maybe it works with spring dynamics

You could make the argument that this is the correct behaviour since Genesis figures ARE an empty bag - there is nothing inside the skin.
