What Daz content should I install first? [Solved]

I had to reinstall Windows 11. I have to reinstall 9000+ Daz programs and assets.

(luckily i still have the downloads)

When I install them from the IM, everything seems to install at random.

I am under the belief that some things should be installed first i.e. Daz Studio and the Beta.

What should be installed first so I get a stable version of Daz that I can gradually build upon?

I figured it out, click on gear in the top right corner and an option there will install basic items needed.

Restart Daz IM and then manually install the public Beta.

Restart Daz IM again and then let it do its thing.

  • DIM does have rules - PostgreSQL first, then packages that install like software, then packages that isntall loike plugins, then plain content, so it shouldn't generally matter if you select everything at once.

I ran into problems because I tried to install stuff first. I corrupted both builds. I had to completely uninstall and delete all folders everywhere and then install the package first and then the beta and then let the DIM do its thing. I hope the beta will be okay. Thanks Richard, for the interesting info about how the DIM works.

  • Corrupted how? If the UI goes white that usually indicates that DS was still running, possibly in the background as it shut down, when a new version was installed.

Both the Daz and the beta would load and then crash and stay open in the background until I clicked close on the crash report screen and then they would close. The crash reports were sent to Daz. I have successfully got my content installed now. I think this is the best installation I have ever gotten, no erroneous folders, duplicated or grayed out items.

    Daz is running solid...
