In the promos for the DA Daz horse base material set there's a white horse with a white mane and tail. How'd they do it? I don't see anything in the set that changes mane and tail colors. I don't see anything in the DAZ Horse 3 files. Am I missing something obvious?

I'd also like to know how to actually simulate the mane/tail to be able to look like that. I count myself as pretty good with dForce for clothing and whatnot but getting hair to move like that...nope. So what, flip the horse upside down to sim? Also how does one go about changing the length as I tried every setting in the surfaces panel to change the length of the forlock and nope. I know we can't edit dForce hair in the editor, but we should still be able to tweak a bit in the surfaces.
The white textures and the complimentary LIE overlays are buried at
As for the mane and tail, given how out of focus and blurred they are in that shot, even at points where they're in the same plane as things that are in crisp focus, I'd suspect mutiple wind nodes and a bit of Photoshop work may be involved.
Thanks. I see how to change the coat, but I'm missing how to change the mane and tail. I bet it's right in front of my face, but I don't see it.
All I can say is please be patient. Definitely a wind node, but no post in that promo.
Does this mean that the feature that's shown in the product promo is not included in the product?
I'm sorry but there are no presets for the Dforce Hair in https://www.daz3d.com/da-daz-horse-3-base-material-set if that is what you are meaning, there is a full list of what's included on the product page.
Thanks, that clears it up.
You can change the horse mane and tail colors in ths Surfaces pane. If you want white, change the colors from black to white. Look at the white reindeer as an example, if you have that.
Thanks I'll have a look at the reindeer. Just changing the things that are obvious ends up with a gray mane with white blobs.
The problem with that is the color of a horse's mane is generally more nuanced than that.

Had a feeling you might have something in the works....
