Genesis 8 is driving me batty
Hi, folks. I've lost about 90% of my <PUDDINGS> trying to get Genesis working. I beseech thee.
I installed the essential thingy, but it didn't appear in my normal library folders. - Typically newly installed content for me appears in Poser Formats > My Daz Studio > Figures. Because my Daz library is about 20 years old, it's very fragmented and here there and everywhere, so I know that might be causing problems, but for arguements sake; "Poser Formats > My Daz Studio > ..." is where all newly installed content ALWAYS appears... ...until now!
I found Genesis 8 in the daftest folder on the planet, the "Products" folder. (Genesis 9 appeared in the "Catagories" folder, but one pain in the butt at a time...!)
In Products > G > Genesis 8 Starter Essentials I am presented with a large vomit of content, which I'm sure is all good stuff, but there's so much that the nagivation bar is sensitive as heck! --- And when I FINALLY found Genesis 8. Or Genesis 8.1. What the hell is 8.1? What's Dev Load? - Never mind. I finally LOAD the--- what I THINK --- I Genesis 8 - and she can't move, she can't talk - I gotta say, she's pretty rude!
I search DAZ official site for morphs, and it's ONLY got body morphs. There is zero way I can see to make her face move at all. What on earth am I doing wrong, and what happened to plug and play?? :'(
Thanks in advance, anyone who can help me out of this pit. All I want to do is shape the model and make her emote! But you try searching the store for Genesis 8 stuff, it just won't come up!
- Giles.

The Genesis figures are daz Studio format, try looking in Daz Studio Formats>My Daz Studio>People>Genesis
"Daz Studio Formats>My Daz Studio" is a completely empty folder for me!
That sounds like incorrect paths - if you go to Edit>Preferences (Daz Studio>Preferences on a Mac), Content tab, and click Content Directory manager then do you have the same My Daz Studio Formats folder selected under Daz Studio Formats as under Poser Formats?
Thanks, Richard. Problem resolved!
I agree about the filepath, so I went on an odyssey trying to work out where DazCentral was putting Genesis 8. - Over the years I've built up many "DAZ" and "Daz 3D" folders on various drives, Documents folders and Program Files, but I just couldn't find Gen 8 anywhere. - But here's what I did: Daz Studio 4.21 was already installed on my computer, so I always stopped DazCentral installing it to avoid a double-install. My brain is beginning to melt understanding all the different folders where various content has been installed over the years, but what I CAN confirm is this; the newly installed DAZ Studio 4.21 immediately found all the missing Genesis stuff, and they all work perfectly.
Although that said, after playing with Genesis 8/8.1 for some time, I think I'm going to complete the comission work I need them for, then burn them in a ritual sacrafice. Bleugh! - Long live V4! LOL!
Anyway, just wanted to respond with a thanks, as a posed to getting to soddery the second my problem is sorted. Cheers!
You are welcome
