...I feel that paying 39$ a year you should see no adverts.  That's what other sites and online publications do.

Agree but tell Wix or Spyed. Also shut off auto-renew. They've had 60% off promos recently, could be no reason to pay that much. I'm currently not paying and it's been ok. Maybe turn it back on later in the year or when the urge strikes. Can't see spending money there when they're so deep in support of the AI nonsense. YMMV.

Does anybody here know World Anvil? If so,  could you share your impression, please?

I adore WorldAnvil. I've been on there for about two years, and their Discord community is one of my main social outlets online (I don't do Discord servers for stuff usually, either). There's at least one other Daz artist on there who does renders for his book series. The art community is very active, although there aren't a lot of people doing 3D (yet >.>).

I mostly post my art on Cohost, but admittedly one of the reasons I'm there is that I like smaller online circles these days.

What is one supposed to do on World Anvil? Seems to be for roleplaying and storytelling?

Yep! More broadly, I'd say it's for organizing worldbuilding projects. A lot of people use it for tabletop RPGs, since there are interactive maps and character sheets for a lot of popular games; if you're a DM running a custom game, you can easily use it to give players info about NPCs, monsters, etc. Others use it for keeping track of novels or publishing stories.

Also, since I know there are a number of adult artists here, they do welcome 18+ work. That was actually what got me to look into them, because it's relatively rare these days to find sites that are fine with NSFW but not focused on it (which is important for those of us doing 18+ stuff that has a significant amount of non-explicit content).

Thanks! Sounds interesting though not something I need. Is Cohost well-populated? I've tried a couple smaller social media sites and they seemed like ghost towns. I felt like I fell in a hole there. I had a hard time finding people actually talking or doing anything. There are actual reasons I've been on DA so long...

My Cohost feed is pretty busy, but it has no algorithm and no recommendations, so you have to proactively find and follow people. It also has a pretty strongly defined site culture, which I think is what keeps it from feeling like a grade school party where everyone is nervously standing around the walls waiting for someone else to start dancing. This is a plus for me since I'm very much in this category, but if you're at all irritated by weird art and gender people doing weird art and gender things, you will probably find it annoying.

    Thanks for the info :)

...yeah was hit by the auto renew Forgot to turn that off. as I had a number of RL things to deal with the pretty much all at the same time.  One of them (my Net service) still seems to keep changing the pricing at whim each month. Last month it was 52$ the month before 69$, this month it's 64$ the plan I'm on is supposed to be 54$ which was what I agreed to.late last year.

Need to call them again but not thrilled about dealing with their reception bot which is soooooo annoying, useless, and difficult to get around to talk to someone who can actually deal with more than simplest of situations. It's so badly scripted tat there is a fake track of someone typing on a keyboard when it says "let me check".  I feel sorry for anyone who believes that's real.
