Daz and reality 4

Hey guys I have this question posted to tech support for reality as well but I figured i should ask it here too just in case that way if anyone knows the answer we'll have it here and if they figure out it out i'll add the fix here as well. But here is what i'm running in to I have moved files from one PC to another a few times now what happens daz the file move works just fine after everything is reinstalled just some skin changes need to be done no issue there. But if i load them into reality 4 i get a ton of content from old renders still saying its in the scene even if i use the model totally naked. This only happens with the old files from what i can tell. If i do a whole new scene then it works fine. I've tried looking everywhere in daz to find the reference infromation for reality render adds to the daz sceen but i cannot find it to save my butt does anyone know where it is.

Also yes i've click on the show hidden nodes and i don't the usual reality folder there so i'm trying to figure out where its pulling referance infromation from to tell reality that other object other than genesis or v4 are in the scene.

I've come across this a few times, the only way i've been able to fix it is to strip all Reality Data from the scene file by doing the following,

Load the scene that has the problem

Save the scene as a 'Scene Subset'

Clear the current scene by selecting 'New' from the 'File Menu'

now load the 'Scene Subset' and save as a normal 'Scene File'

Note: This procedure will remove all Reality Data from the scene file, If you have Reality 4 custom materials setup then I suggest that you save them as 'Automatic Presets' before doing the above procedure, so then when you reload the 'Scene Subset' then Reality will re-apply the materials.

I hope that this is of some help

  • Oh thank goodness that worked. Thank you so much.

  • Your welcome

  • did you post on the RuntimeDNA reality forums or the bug report here? If this is a bug and not a feature the developer is very good about addressing those things if you post on RuntimeDNA.

In R2 you can make the Reality Data file visible and whack it in the content pane, I don't think it's an invisible file you can do it with any longer.

If I upload an image once it does not load the image, just goes through the motions and adds a broken image icon. Delete that and upload the image again and it comes through, at least that's how I get it to work.

  • Hopefully the will be fixed in the upcomming release of Reality 4.1 (Release date Monday 21st Sept.)

The CPU rendering is indeed much faster! However, the best part of Reality 4.1 and Luxrender 1.5 is that GPU rendering has drastically improved! If you have a good video card, you will be able to utilize it now. What took like an hour or two takes only minutes with a GTX 970. Depending on the card, times will vary.

  •  If you use networked nodes for GPU render for OpenCL you need all the receiving nodes to have a compatible version of OpenCL

thats not Reality btw, that's LuxRender 1.5 behavior.

Do you have to save each material separately or can you save them as one preset. For example, can I save the genesis figure as one preset or do I save each material, eyes, teeth, skin, etc as a preset?
