I know you don't really see a doctor wearing one of these "nowadays" but a Lab Coat or whatnot
I don't have the two I can find (but come on they date back before 2016 and we are onto G9), but surely I must have something that could pass, I do have the first responders sets? I have eleventybillion pirates, princesses, elves and monsters!

I have both of these, and they look great! They autofit quite well (especially if you have SY [SickleYield] fixers), though I haven't tried them on G9 yet.
Here's the HC outfit autofitted from G2M to G9:
I used this asset: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-fashion-sophisticate-outfit-for-genesis-8-females to produce a reasonable G8 doctor's / lab coat.
Here is the results: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/user/6666647997775872#gallery=album2383301&page=1&image=1197325 Please note that no grey aliens were harmed during the rendering of the image.

thank you @Matt_Brown and @lou_harper for those suggestions :)
G9 looks a little odd @BeeMKay
Cheers
Everyone needs to have a Mad Scientist Mad Scientist Outfit for Genesis 8 Male(s) | Daz 3D
With the G2 version when I autofit to G8M it seems to gather into a horrible crotch crumple. Do you know how I could stop that? I have SY G8M Fixers too

I used Fit Control and crank up smoothing. With Fit Control, I try to make the garment look right from my chosen camera angle; what it looks like from other angles is irrelevant to me.
If you need to turn on smoothing, you select the item in the Scene tab and go to Edit > Geometry > Add Smoothing Modifier
I found two inexpensive Marvelous Designer medical coats on the Artstation marketplace that work well for both male and female daz figures.
