Does anyone know, if this free version of Octane for use with Daz Studio, would allow me to render a 360-stereo image?  Thanks!

not AFAIK I never could with my previous installment, the DS spherical camera seems locked to iray even 3Delight cannot use it which frustrated me,

that small worlds prop based system might be the only alternative, think Casual has one too

    https://www.daz3d.com/small-world-camera

    basically uses a mirror sphere

Thanks WendyLuvsCatz, I've gotten 360-stereo images out of DS, however, the images only look good looking forward or with work in 2 directions. I keep hoping a good solution comes along for Daz Studio.

To prevent intentional killbits from accessing computers to deactivate old programs is one reason why some folk take old computers offline ;-)

While seeking info about 3DCoat came across an image holder which stays on top. Useful for holding reference images while modeling.

i put onley 1 computer on line, only cuz i play elder scrolls on it.

i have on old old w2k pc with maya 5 and 3ds6 smiley lol  i never ever put that on line. back in those days didn't need no stinky activation codes.  serial numbers were sufficient.   in the way back days, we needed physical dongles to run autocad.

DJV has been my sequence viewer since I downloaded it. I love it! Launch it, drag the first image in the sequence onto it, hit play forward and/or reverse. Simply ROCKS!!!

    Thanks again, my friend!!! :)

    free for UE4 developers

and Quixel Mixer eventually becoming free for everyone

they are adding 3D paint too

I trialed it earlier this year, you can use your own photos of stuff too not just their megascans

it makes nice big seamless maps with masking and all the extra maps for PBR

    Mixer 2020

At last, Mixer 2020 now introduces 3D Painting, Real-time 3D Curvature, Smart Materials and much, much more.

This update also finally introduces 3D Blur, Grouping, Map-specific Blending, Advanced AO Mixing, Box Projection, Material ID Masking, 3D Position Gradients and 3D Normals to name a few, as another step on the path to making Mixer the ultimate, and now free, texturing app.

In short, you can now design Smart Materials, 3D paint meshes, and create tileable surfaces, all in one app—Quixel Mixer 2020 seamlessly fuses scan data, PBR painting and procedural authoring, for a vastly streamlined texturing experience, with native access to over 10,000 scans and new content rolling in every day. Whether you’re targeting organic, hard-surface, photoreal or stylized texturing, working in 3D or 2D, Mixer 2020 finally has you covered.

The new free Mixer and Bridge 2020 will be released later this year, so sit tight. We are extremely excited to hear what you think.

Here’s our vlog covering all these updates:

for now Materialize still rocks if you cannot wait

Mmmmm... Quixel Mixer Free coming soooon!!! :)

In case anyone hasn't seen this, 3D Buzz is making their whole back catalogue of tutorials available for free. A lot of the software ones are long in the tooth, but plenty on sketching and art. One on steampunk, for example.

Sorry to hear they are closing but they seem to have a good heart by making so many things free that look like they would be good to have.

Okay, so it's resticted to members only, it seems. Requires Authorization, even when right-click, save as

    Understandable.

TerreSculptor 2, fully free new version looks very promising!

Here is link to intro video:

Here is link to download page: http://www.demenzunmedia.com/home/terresculptor/

Note: when I installed it on my 4K monitor the UI was super tiny.  Changed the property settings for the desktop shortcut per the attached photo to fix the UI size.

@FirePro9 Very cool! Looks like what might happen if somebody further developed the terrain tools in Carrara, doesn't it? You know, added steroids and modern stuff!

Very cool "Two Minute Terrain" video! And free? That's just awesome!

@Dartanbeck and all other subscribers to this list, this thread is one of my favorites, especially when there are new posts listing cool free graphics software available.

I am wondering if it being located under Software | Carrara Discussion is limiting the amount of traffic this great resource of a thread is getting.  At first glance I would probably look for this thread to be located in the General | Freebies or General | Commons sections of the DAZ 3D Forums.

Just wondering what others think about asking to have this thread relocated?  The purpose of the thread relocation would be to get more participation and hopefully being made aware of even more cool Free apps.  Thanks!
