People really do need to think outside the box with animation, compositing 2D rather than dumping all your meshes in everything is so much easier, iclone has a shadowcatch plane and 360 sky too!
Thanks, Wendy. So I imagine it would have pre-rigged avatars ?
Sounds like fun!
yes with built in clothes, older ones you get free have full body suits you texture
the horse and SUV follow terrains and have inbuilt motions like open doors trunk driver get in/out
you can do a photo fit giving a generated face then tweak features with sliders and pulling poly dots around
Too cool to pass up! Gotta get that before the end of March or lose the deal forever! No more excuses Dartan... better get this while it's free so I can finally see what this bad-boy is all about. It looks fantastic - but it also looks like a direct competitor to what I'm using Carrara for.
Anyways, Thanks to my good friends for bringing this to my attention!!! :ahhh:
You're going to love iClone 5, and all of it's potential but the good stuff is in iClone 6 with the addition of Substance Designer. Check out the utube videos to see what's possible. I've been playing around with it for the last couple of weeks and I think it works quite well with carrara. (got bored waiting around for C9)
Not free software, just a free model

you need Lightwave otherwise it is a big jigsaw puzzle
Poser only gets some right, more than carrara
they do give an exploded part view that helps in a PITA way
and the answer is
BLENDER

Thanks, downloading now!
Thanks Wendy, just finished downloading. It's play time!!
Pleasure propose
Thanks, downloading now!
Installed it without reading the fine print. I got the impression that it's cloud based software, so I uninstalled it. I'm just not a fan of cloud anything. Paranoid I guess.
Good to be paranoid.

Anything from autodesk these days are either rental or cloud, they do not want you to own anything, they are going to have all software as rental only next year, you will not be able to buy any software from autodesk at all.
I will not go anywhere near them.
And apparently Unity 5 is free...as in free, with seriously improved graphics to compete with Unreal 4.
Which way do you vote?
It's really funny how many great software companies are falling over themselves to win more users by giving more away for free while the big boys adobe and autodesk are getting more strident in charging more via subscriptions, wouldn't have been much of a problem if they had strong freemium models. Subscription is not in itself bad, but when it gets so ridiculous that users are ready to ditch years of climbing a learning curve to start anew with something else, then somebody should be paying attention. Time will tell on the business sense in their chosen model.
I don't think audtodesk need to worry, they pretty much has monopoly on the highend market, so the customers will not have much choice.
Grab your copy of DaVinci Resolve 11 Lite that is also free to everyone! A full package to edit the clips rendered in Carrara, adding audio tracks, give some colour tone-mapping and grading different clips to common colour scheme, rendering the movie and write to almost all usable video files. So a great professional gift to all interested in movie making. Do pay your attention to the system requirements: 64 bit windows, 8 GB RAM.

Thanks makma !
Small problem with DaVinci Resolve and Daz Studio or Carrara.
DVR also uses and installs PostgreSQL, but another version so there may be a problem with the content management system of DS and Carrara, a bitch to uninstall too.
Recommended to run DS/Carrara and DVR on separate computers or dualboot.
There is no problem having multiple versions of postgres running on the same computer as long as you can configure the port it use to access it, not sure if this is possible though with DVR or DAZ.
In DS you can configure the port in Edit > Preferences > CMS Settings
My dual display with DaVinci and Carrara at once.

Can you find the Smart Content tab and load Files/Ready to render/Samples/Day at the Beach?
Assuming you have Daz Studio installed and its free content pack.
Unfortunately I don't have DAZ Studio installed now nor its free content. Should I do that? I'm not after figures now. My preferred subjects are still-lifes and arch-viz. Though if I could help I will install it. What do you want to check?
My system is WIN7 PRO 64 bit, the apps are: Carrara 8.1 32 bit and DaVinci Resolve 11 lite 64 bit.
Thanks for this! :ahhh:

looks good dada, thank you :)
looks good dada, thank you :)
easy, download both
that Viking village showcase looks awesome!!!
I can get the props in carrara but sadly not the textures or complete scene.
Unity does not export as obj or FBX like Unreal.
But the prop assets themselves are FBX
Been playing with an Unreal set I bought in Carrara, iClone and DAZ too.
