Hello,
I'm creating animations with characters where I want the background (the default plane) to be completely transparent, so I can easily crop a background of my own into the image series I create.
My current problem is that that the characters cast a shadow on the default plane when I render in Iray, meaning I have to manually crop out his shadow from the images. Is there a way to stop this shadow from being cast?
Simply changing the Y-translation so no ground shadow is cast is unfortunately not an option.

In the Render tab, go to Environment, then turn Draw Ground to Off.
YOu'll have to manually create shadows that way; leaving it on means that if saved as png then the file has the information needed to create good shadows; it does requre the area you place the figure to be flat as sadly there is no way of changed the spae of shadows other than by adding backgrounds.
Thanks alot!
