Collisions

I was wondering if there was in the near future going to be added to the parameters list a setup for a secondary or even multiple collision item? At the moment if say you have boots you can have the figure as a collision item or say a pair of pants but you can't have both. If say you have the figure as the item the pants could poke through or if you have the pants as the item the figure could poke through the boots.

Just wondering... thank you

  • It's certainly a much-requested feature, but nothing has been said about it. In general Daz does not pre-announce featues, so anything is possible, but it's not a good idea to count your chickens before they are at least previewed.

Using a Push Modifier with a weight map node or a weight-mapped DForm may be a work-around for now.

Another handy technique is using something like Supersuit for Genesis or Ultra Bodysuit to help -- fit the suit to the figure, fit the clothes to the suit, and get a lot better fine control of placement.

Also remember that you can fit the boots to the figure but then set the Collision to the pants; normally if you fit boots to pants you can get weird problems. Given how fit works, this is somewhat like having two collision items. Sorta. (You might be unaware that you can do this -- I was until very recently)

Also also, if the clothes lack a Smoothing/Collision modifier, you can add it with Edit > Geometry > Add Smoothing Modifier.
