G9 saving time

Just wondering if this is just me, but does it take longer for scenes with g9 to save? All of mine do. I had one yesterday that took almost 15 minutes to save--and it was a single g9 but i had autofit some g8 hair to it. Just been really odd that all my g9 figures seem to take longer to save.

If the G9 figure in your scene just have the compatible wearables desiged for G9, there won't be any problem when saving, still pretty fast. But if you had G8's wearables esp. HD hairs on G9 by autofit, it would take much longer to save the scene file...
You may have noticed that the duf file size turned big than usual even if it was compressed. If you uncompress it, it might be a huge size file (xxxMB). Because quite a lot of geometry had been converted based on G9's nodes and weights, all these geometry data plus blended vertices/weights etc. were written to your duf file. You said it took 15 mins, I guess you must have used a pretty HD and complex G8 hair on G9. You may open the saved duf file to take a look, probably there're xMil even xxMil lines of code...
Auto fitting hairs of previous generations to G9 still has lots of problems, you may even see there's no projection template for hairs... Now the only way to mitigate this issue is that you have to first save the converted hair as a Figure/Prop asset, then reload it to the figure.... In such a way, 'slow saving' will only happen once to dsf files other than your future duf files when you save them each time..
Once you fit a G8 item to G9 you can save it as support asset, so daz studio will use that for G9 and your scenes will not be bogged anymore. This is not specific to G9 though, the same happens anytime you fit items across generations.
As for the base figure, G9 comes with many more morphs than G8 by default so it takes longer to load and save.
file > save as > support asset
OK, thanks. Good suggestions and at least I know I am not crazy
