Back To School???????????????????????????????????????

Can someone explain the logic of having a back-to-school marketing blitz when most of the Western world is quitting school until next September?

    In Australia they've gone back to school after Easter break below is timetable of upcoming school holidays

    Back to School promos used to start very early in the Summer holidays - I used to hate that when it was relevant to me, couldn't they shut up and wait until the holidays were nearly over?

    Back to school?  Where I live they haven't even let school out for the summer.

    It's refreshing to have lead time for products. It'd be nice to have an Uncle Sam character and clothes set come out like yesterday so I can put out concepts BEFORE July 4. Even for the hobbyists, what good is it to have Christmas products come out on Dec. 24? Which has happened in the past.

    Heck.... some while back, there was product featuring a little girl with an angel costume who was clearly meant to be used in a Christmas-play sort of context.... that was released in January!  laughlaugh

    But yeah, having a time-specific prop available a ways before the actual holiday or whatever does have its merits.  (But.... almost a YEAR?  laugh >>gaffaws<<) Then again, not all of us are necessarily going to limit themselves to the time of year the product was meant for, though.  That said, some projects have a LONG lagtime.
