Need help rendering only the clothes with model transparent
I'm stuck on a project and need some help. I need to be able to render some clothing on a figure where only the clothing renders but anywhere the model would be is transparent. The only way I can think to do this is to make the model (like g8f or g9) a solid color and then knock out the color in Photoshop. Now, in Poser using a Firefly render, I can do this by setting the model to ambient and then rendering the clothes as normal, but when I try to do this in DS in either a 3Dellight or Iray render, the model isn't a flat color and the ambient color actually emits over to the clothes. Is there some other or better way to do this?
Here's a Poser render that is doing what I need it to do (in Cyan Blue). Different clothing. And to next to it i(n Magenta Pink) is the best I can get a DAZ render. How do I make it do this in DS? Or is there some way to just render the clothes only with the model parts transparent?
Note: The reason why I'm not just rendering the clothing and hiding the model is that I will be using a pose where the models arms overlap the clothing...and I don't want to see the back of the neckline, etc., where a neck would be. I need to have that knocked out.
Any help is much appreciated!

I think you should be able to get the "clothes only" render directly with Iray canvases: you can setup a beauty canvas with alpha channel and select only the clothes as the node to be rendered, and you should get a render with just the parts of the clothes which would be visible in the full render, and the rest transparent.
Here's a video about canvases, which includes a simple example of rendering only one object from the scene: https://www.versluis.com/2019/04/using-iray-canvases-in-daz-studio-3d-shenanigans-13/
@Leana - this is perfect. Thank you!
