Daz Studio version questions

1 -  I tried to use CNB Parah HD for Genesis 8.1 Female CNB Parah HD for Genesis 8.1 Female | Daz 3D and she turned white when applying her texture.  So, I re-installed her and restarted my computer.  

I realized it is because I run Daz Studio 4.12.1.  Well that is what I think, anyway.

She is the cutest and I cannot use her textures, however I can use her morphs, so that's good!!

2 -  I hope to put this in the kindest way possible so not to upset anyone.

I have not upgraded to the latest version of Daz Studio because, as I understand it, you need a super duper computer.

I am wondering, in order to gain new users, why wouldn't Daz Studio software be for the average computer owner?  Why not have a good version of DS that the average computer owner can use AND a version you have now.

3 - I have stated in other posts, that I have all of the earlier versions of Daz Studio downloaded, however I did not save the one I use now :(  

I have no idea what version of DS there was that worked well after the one I use.  I would like to download that one.  One that improves my version, but doesn't change my life :)

4 - What version do ya'll run right now?  What was the version you liked the most?

5 - I have been using Iray since I left Poser in 2018 and began using Daz Studio.  I have not had many problems with my computer with the exception of Pudgy the Corgi Pudgy the Corgi | Daz 3D.  I used him a year ago and the fur version crashed my computer.  Fur is very hard on ram...of course.

6 - I thought I read that many products I have will no longer work with the latest version of Daz Studio.  I still have fun using V4 :)

I thought you might want to see my level of Daz Studio expertise.  I think I'm doing well :)

    Not sure why the textures are not appearing.

    The easiest way to install two versions of Studio is to have the second one as a Beta. Then you could check if the latest version really is too much for your system.

    Use the DIM to install the latest version as a 'Beta', that will not effect your 4.12 so you could both versions.

    There's a good chance that the textures are not appearing because the character is using the PBR skin shader, which doesn't work in 4.12.

    And yes, installing the latest beta would be a good idea (assuming the 4.12 installed is a general release).
