finding  missing items in the scen

why will daz not let you select those exttremeley annoying grey boxes when the item is missing?

it is g8 hair that is missiing and there is no hair under head in the scene tab and search for hair comes up with nothing

just thought id give it a try, is there a way becasue it is usually impossible to find what is missing (aside from reopening the file to see what objects are missing and having to wait many minutes for daz top do so)

 

could it be thers wat to see which files aree missig while the scene is open?

    Are you talking about items that are missing when you open a scene file?

    Then you can look in the log file.

    yes, 

    i cant find the log file, is it under onme of the menus?

    If you have missing files in the scene it should throw up a dialog box telling you what it cannot find. If you install the packages that are missing then it should load correctly.

    If you are wanting to see those without re-opening the scene then they should be listed in the log (Help -> Troubleshooting -> View Log File).

    I have never  seen notepad make the blue wheel keep spinning but that is what happens for me when I go to view the log file

     

    there are so many words in the file may be the reason but with so many words how can I locate where any missing file may be?

    New entries come in the bottom.

    So if new look there.
