No to Genesis 8 Female No Suit

I'm suddenly getting messages about No Suit I wasn't before.  I deinstalled it because I wasn't going to use it and I'm tying to reduce loadtimes (and yes, I do have and use Turbo Loader but there still isn't any reason to have products installed I'm never going to use).  In any case, No Suit is not installed, I uninstalled it.

Unfortunately the system is still looking for it when loading even the generic Genesis 8 female figure, and I get a pop up saying it wants to find the files.  I want to get rid of that, and the whole searching process for it.  Here is the relevent excerpt from the log file where I am only including the first two morphs for brevity.  Any idea how to eradicate it?  I already uninstalled and reinstalled Genesis 8 Starter Female so I know I have a fresh copy of it.

Something is obviously calling for it, I don't know what.

First three lines of that "log" tell you the problem, DS writes data into a cache, and loads it from there before going to the data folder.

To clear the cache, go Edit > preferences (or hit F2), on the General tab near the bottom you will see "DSON cache files", click on the "Clear" button to erase the cache.

  • I figured it was something like that, I just didn't know how to clear it, thanks

Question, should I clear that cashe regularly? Never cleared any cache in Daz before so want to make sure before attempting it.

It should not have been like that.. as after you uninstall a product and then load a Base Figure, the cache file will be updated, so the code of DSON Support Files of NoSuit in cache file will be deleted. There should be no error related to DSF files. Beside, if needed dsf files are missing, there'll be a dialogue box poppoing up when loading the figure or scene...

So the errors in your log should be irrelevant to the cache since it indicates to DSON User Files (G8 NoSuit.duf, etc. which have been already uninstalled) other than DSON Support Files... You could Ctrl + N, and load a G8F or Devload to check again...

No you don't have to... but you may clear them:
    - if you have installed a great deal of products and have ever loaded majority of them, and never uninstall or clean up your DAZ Library or products,  then the size of those *.cache files / folders will turn very huge...
    - if purely run out of your drive space...
    - if it's for the purpose of some trouble-shooting...

    etc...

The cache is meant to auto refresh itself any time there is a change, doesn't always work like that though.

I have multiple content directories and I chop and change between them regularly, which are active depends on what I'm working on, making, fixing etc, so I've been bitten by this a few times.

Clearing the cache regularly doesn't do any harm, you'll just find things take a little longer to load the first time after clearing it.

Nope, there'll be no harm at all but just some time-consuming when loading things afterwards... If one would like to clear it from time to time, just do it lah...

I haven't experienced big issue from them up to now even if I have multiple libs in diff. locations and frequently work on complex stuff...  I don't touch them most of the time
