Key light and fill light create white artifact on mirror in background

Hi,

so to get better lighting for a scene I use a key light and fill light (from Svevas Glow lighting set).

The problem is that these two lights apart from providing a better lighting also create two white square artifacts on a mirror in the background.

Has anyone an idea how to get rid of them?

Thanks

They may have beens et up for the old-style ghost lights, which relied on a bug in Iray that was later fixed. You would now need to apply the techniques discussed here to make the lights invisible and to stop them reflecting in the problem surfaces (needs changes to both lights and surfaces) https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/609556/creating-a-ghost-light-daz-studio-4-21-1-26 (which currently requires working in the Public Build, the beta branch).

  • If those are regular spotlights, you need to pose them so they aren't in camera field of view. It's normal Iray behavior to show light sources.

So ghost lights are invisible difusse mesh lights?

So how do I check if my keylight is such a light?

    Thanks

If you didn't buy this Iray Ghost Light Kit One | Daz 3D or this Iray Ghost Light Prop Kit | Daz 3D then it's safe to say it's probably not a ghost light.

The light set is from 'SVs GLOW Iray Lights' on renderosity.

In the description on the product page it's only mentioned that they are mesh lights.

I tried method C mentioned in Richards link (https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/609556/creating-a-ghost-light-daz-studio-4-21-1-26).

But I get an opening error message when trying to apply the "Add Iray Ghost Light Factor Property" script.

A ghost light was just an emissive surface that was almost, but not quite, transparent - it doesn't have to be one of the Ghost Light sets. Even non-ghost lights that were emissive and had an opacity map (e.g. many flame props) were affected, having their total luminance lowered as the masked out sections ceased to cast light.
