Help! I uninstalled some unused character assets with Intall Manager. Now if I try to open any G8F asset, Daz crashes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling D8 essentials but no luck. Almost all of my work is G8. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!!

Pls attach Ds log.. menu Help - Troubleshooting - View Log File.
You better: open Log file, Ctrl + A, Delete, Save, then open G8 base figure... If Ds crashes, open File Browser, go to: %AppData%\DAZ 3D\Studio4\, find log.txt in there.
Log File
Have you used XTransfer to convert some G3 figure to G8? Then you just uninstalled or deleted some G3 character products?
I did use XTransfer, but didn't delete any assets after that. I had deleted some earlier in the day. Is there something I need to reinstall?
I really need to learn to decipher the log file I guess.
XTransfer doesn't seem to be very 'nice' utility, when for example one has Crowing Up for G3 and G8, and then a character using Growing Up is converted from G3 to G8, XTransfer brings the necessary Growing Up files from G3 to G8 and at the same time creates duplicate formulas...
For troubleshooting purposes I would remove the XTransfer folder with everything inside from the G8 morph folder and uninstall the Auto Face Enhancer as well (one source of conflicts)
Also suggest first try the above-mentioned... From the log, I found one crash after loading your figure, but you know 'Daz log' normally records nothing the moment it crashes, so in most cases for troubleshooting, we just try to find some 'clues' from the log file...
Thanks. I'm still chasing it but I have uninstalled XTransfer and the auto enhancer. I manually reinstalled Daz 8 Essentials (all of them) and now it doesn't crash when I load G8F base figure but I get a blank screen showing the figure bounding box but no figure, I'm gettting closer I guess. Even before it started crashing I did get a popup that said " Duplicate formulas found in files. Make sure that the content is properly installed. See the Log File for more details"
I submitted a ticket to Daz with the log file to see if they have any feedback as well.
I spoke too soon. "critical error" message and crash report
Uninstalling XTransfer is not enough. The morph folder for XTransfer is still there.
For Genesis 8 Female, the location is "...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\XTransfer\", you need to remove that folder and everything in it.
You can make a zip-file of the folder and contents before deleting it, so you can get it back if you want.
THAT WAS THE CULPRIT! I thought I had deleted that folder, but evidently I had deleted the main XTransfer folder. Opened a generic G8F asset, no prob. Opened one of my character assets, no prob. It did reference not finding something in the XTransfer folder, but that morph was never used in this file. Who cares! It works!
I would buy y'all many beers if you were close by.
I was about to write off over a year of learning Daz, hundreds of dollars of assets, hundreds of hours of character and scene development and switch to Blender. Y'all rock!
No more XTransfer for me! I'm going to be like people who have kicked drugs or alcohol - "I'm another day sober from using XTransfer"
That`s great! Unfortunately I'm afraid I'm very far from you, but cheers! And Happy Rendering !
I'm some 400 miles south from Santa on the western side of the newest NATO border, but if you ever come this way I'll heat up the sauna and cut a hole in the ice to swim in - You bring the beer
