animation on Gen8.0/8.1 is unbearably slow now but was ok 2 years ago?
I'm talking about the slowness when load/play a single aniblock just on stock figure with 0 morph in viewport(gen8/8.1 stock figures can hardly replay any anilock properly) or tried to editing or adjust character's pose from single keyframe, on gen8/8.1 it's completely unbearably slow on my i9 10900k/RTX4090/64G ram/SSD. it's so slow on a single character let along doing 2-3 characters at once, but it wasn't like this before, funny that gen3 or gen9 have no problem whatsoever, especially gen 9 it's faster than gen 3 even for doing animation
I remember well when i 1st started using Daz studio 3 years ago, among 1st few things I did was jumped into animation tab and played around with the animation system, as annoying as the UI was, the whole thing was still relatively easy to work with and I did all my animation on gen8, handled 2 -3 characters with no problem whatsoever, back then I had a much slower computer... now with multiply Daz update, hardware upgrade, now gen8/8.1 animation is so slow to the point that is completely uneditable in viewport.... many may say, well then just using gen 9, yea I'd love too, but most of my gen8's morph doesn't exist on gen 9 yet and probably won't be anytime soon.
So what happened? anyone constantly doing animation on DAZ found this same problem and how do you overcome it?

It's most likely due to the number of morphs you have installed. They don't need to be applied to slow it down, they just need to exist in a loaded daz library lol. Loading the figures takes longer the more you have installed, and so do posing, expressions, simulations and animations.
I'm assuming you have far fewer G3 and G9 characters than G8/8.1. Case in point: My G9 loaded instantly when I only had Victoria 9, and now it's beginning to show I have a bunch of G9 characters. G8 is worse by a long shot, but I have countless characters.. I try to uninstall the ones I don't use to keep things acceptable.
You could try creating another daz content library in the settings in which you keep the bare minimum to work on your current scenes and another with the rest etc. There's a bunch of videos on the issue like this one.
I did notice make one single big content folder affect the loading speed when you put them on screen, but animation is more about their joint's rigging speed in viewport, I don't think it still loads from all folders when you make any kind of movement on the figure, and as it now, Gen 8 is so slow it killed all my motivation to want to any kind of animation.
We'd think it would not, but it kind of does. Grabbing a limb and moving it around is super slow with a ton of morphs installed, yet is nearly instant with the bare minumum installed.
Even with stock gen 8/8.1 dev version figure (the fastest gen 8/8.1) with 0 morph on it, grab a limb move around in viewport triggers massive delay on fastest CPU/GPU/SSD, have said that, noted on your advise, i will experiment to move a few most used files into a new content folder and link it, but if what you said is true, then it is one of the kind bad design on fundamental lvl
Dev load still loads the morphs.. and yes it's my single biggest annoyance with daz studio. I much prefer the random crashes and it fact that it takes forever to quit (window dissapears but it remains in the task manager, slllooooowllllly freeing memory until it's gone.. it can take 10 minutes sometimes, so I often end up force killing it) than waiting forever to load a character, and then waiting a bunch when applying poses/expressions.
