Making a Badge

I have set up in Photoshop an Alpha Channel for a badge I want to make. However, when I add it to a primitive plane in DAZ Studio it does not allow me to adjust on the Z scale. I have tried it on a cube it wraps the texture all around the cube. I just want to make the badge a bit thicker than the primitive plane! Any suggestions? Cheers

Primitive - Plane is just a 'plane' with only 2-dimensions scaling. It is a right way that you use a Cube, but you need to create a 'Top Surface' first by using Geometry Editor. Then assign you texture map to it and define color even other textures to the surface of 'Thickness'...
you have to use a modeller like Hexagon or Blender for this.
Of course you could start with something like a cube as primitive in DS and try to tweak it.... But if it is not impossible it is at least time consuming. 3D Modelling programs are much better suited for this task
If you're using a version of PhotoShop that allows you to create 3D objects, you can either import an Illustartor file or trace your badge in Photoshop and extrude it, then export an .obj file for import into DAZ Studio. There are a number of different tutorials online, like this one:

It's how I made these buckles/badges for my crew; I grouped different inserts with the round buckle and back and can turn off one departmetn and on another, as well as change materials for each.

Crosswind, Can you be more specific on how to create a top surface using the geometry editor? I only need to make a small badge for a headband and if I can do it in DAZ Studio it would be helpful! Cheers
You might want to consider using an Iray decal node instead.
Okay, that's what you wanna make... Actually you don't need a primitive, you may directly put the small badge in the texture map of Base Color, or place it on the Base Color map by using Layered Image Editor.
Like this example, I put a 'badge' on this hairband and also tweak the normal map to have a better effect... simple and quick:
Another option is to use a decal node but you need to customize more texture maps to make it look better..
