How to change push modifier value without affecting the object

To try and clarify my question a bit, what I am trying to do is use push modifier weight node on my plane object to try and adjust it so that I can create a driveway like road for my scene. I have adjusted the plane and nicely adjusted it but there are some points that require extra or less push so as soon as I enter the value in the modifier (like lets say -2 from -10), it changes the already painted areas to that new value alone which messes up the bits I already painted. I want it to leave the already painted area alone when I change the value and only apply the new value when I paint over.

So is there a way to tell it to please leave the areas I painted alone when I change the value? It's quite annoying.

    You can add a second Push Modifier, which will then have a map available for editing in the Tool Settings pane when the access node is selcted and the Node Weightmap Brush active.
