How to add G9 Iris Glow

Hey gang,

I'm playing with G9 materials and am a little bit confused on how to make the irises glow.

I notice the Genesis 9 eyes are separate objects, so no issue there.  I've created a black and white emissive map that only affects the irises.

I assign the iris mask to the Emission Color slot for the eyes, and then select a bright blue color (just for testing so far).

But the effect is not showing up, either in the iRay Preview, or the iRay render.

Can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks in advance. 8-)

Character set is Ianira

Seems you used Iris texture map to make the B/W map but assigned it to the Eyemoisture surfaces which have Emmissive slot with Iray Uber shader, but Eyemoisture's UV is different from Eye Left / Right...
You may flip B/W map vertically...

What luminance unit are you using?

I accidentally changed it, so that might be part of the problem.

It's currently set to kcdlm^2, but when it was set to whatever the default is it didn't seem to work either.

I roughly made a map there, it works... You either apply iray Uber shader to Eye Left / Right surface then assign the BW map or flip the map on Eyemoisture...

Yeah I used the iris texture to create the iris map. Like so:

I'll try your solution. Sorry for my G9 newbieness 8-)

I tried flipping the map and it's still not working. There must be some other setting unique to that character that is preventing it from showing up. Maybe a layered image or something.

I'll try some other eyes and see what happens.

    EDIT: Got it to work.

There's definitely a learning curve to Genesis 9 LOL ;)
