A little help with advanced setting in Iray rendering

Hi. After a new install of Daz, i forgot how my render setting was settled. Actually, after the reinstall, render seems to be really slow... Could you tell me if I forgot something? I always used only GPU. Maybe i should change settings in general. Thank you for your help and patience.

As far as I can see you only have 4 GB VRAM, and thereby a (large) risk that your render will drop to CPU.

When done a render, then try to check in the log file (Help > Troubleshooting > View Log File) whether your render was done on GPU or CPU.

  • Hi felis. Thank you for your response. i will check. Can i ask you where i can see how much Vram i have? Mi laptop is 16 GB Ram, why Vram is so low? Thanks again.

If you open Windows > Taskmanager, under the tab performance > GPU you should be able to see how much GPU memory.

VRAM is dedicated RAM on the GPU, and when using Iray, your scene has to be able to be contained in the amount of VRAM, else it won't use the GPU.

  • Thank you
