Hi. Just installed these earlier. Haven't gotten any green overlay or anything (yet) but rather noticed Iray Viewport slowdowns, the kind of as if subdivision levels were high. Pretty sure it  didn't feel like that earlier in the morning before updating.

    Running on a 4070 TI.

I found that the green cast/overlay doesn't appear when you switch off the post denoiser denoise alpha setting in Render Settings > Filtering

Running on 3080 ti, Daz studio 4.21.0.5

Lefke seems to be correct, I just tried this now and with the Iray live preview on, I get the green overlay with Post Denoiser Alpha on and no green with it off. Thank you for the heads-up and the fix.

Has anyone notified nvidia that nvidia broke nvidia iray with an update to the nvidia driver?

I'm sure they test this stuff before release,,right?? hehehehe

It's almost like they are a small indie company working from home instead of a trillion dollar(as of this week) corporation.

I see the same, Post Denoiser Alpha seems to remove red channel from the image.

...but when do you actually need the 'alpha' setting?

(Incidentally, no such problem with Studio 4.16)

That is a good question, I never noticed any difference with it on or off in my renders (besides this bug) and have defaulted it off for a long time.

For those wondering if the newest 536.23 Nvidia driver fixed this issue? No it hasn't, don't even bother updating your driver maybe for at least next 3 months, clearly Iray is not Nvidia priority. Especially not on this busy new game release month.

  • Hello. I've just got word from nVidia guys that the green tinted images when the Alpha Denoiser is enabled on the Iray renderer have just been acknowledged, and It's now listed on the official Drivers Open issues list, pending fixing.

You can check here for reference on the official forums: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/520845/geforce-grd-53623-feedback-thread-released-61423/

    nVidia issue number [4160093]

I just installed the latest DAZ 4.21 Beta. Some renders work fine, others don't even start, just come up blank after a few seconds on GPU rendering.

I checked things like sub d levels but no issues there. I can't even render a single primitive, but have a previous saved scene with two clothed G3Fs that renders fine.

    The log include:

[ERROR] Iray :: Internal rendering error.

IRAY   rend error: No device specified or usable

Iray [ERROR] - IRAY:RENDER ::   1.0   IRAY   rend error: No worker to render with: aborting render

I have the 5.35.98 driver on a 12gb 3060 RTX. Is this the likely cause.

I run a 3060 on the Beta and don't get this error, just the 'alpha denioser' issue. Did you do a restart after the new driver install?

Thanks for replying. Yes did a restart. I've tried going back to 456.38 but no change. I started to think it was maybe a large texture or something using up memory, but that doesn't explain why I couldn't render a simple primitive. I've been making subsets of the scene, and loading those seperately trying to pinpoint where the issue occurs. Weirdly CPU render also failed and caused DAZ to crash entirely.

  • Hello.

Just installed the latest nVidia 536.40 driver, released yesterday, and the green tint when using the Denoise Alpha option is still present.:(
