Render ONLY selected elements with same lighting conditions

Hey. I'm desperately hoping that by now this feature is build in to Daz3D.
i would like a way to select, let's say an arm of a character, and render only that arm. Yes I know there is a feature that does this, but I have not seen a feature where the exact same lighting conditions applies.
I know a year ago Daz could do that, but only with a plane slicing through everything. Anyone that can answer how to accomplish this? With Iray.

And to be clear, I would hope this feature would also do as follows: select the bagground without a character in front, but the shadow from the character is still visible
I think you should be able to do the "only one selected item" render with Iray canvases: you can setup a beauty canvas with alpha channel and select only the item you're interested in as the node to be rendered, and you should get a render with just the parts of that item which would be visible in the full render, rendered as in the scene, and the rest transparent.
Here's a video about canvases, which includes a simple example of rendering only one object from the scene: https://www.versluis.com/2019/04/using-iray-canvases-in-daz-studio-3d-shenanigans-13/
