Sounds good. Also sounds as if you have had a nice performance boost. I must admit I don't really use iRay preview while posing, preferring the speed of Filament. However, I always do the final tweaks in iRay preview mode. Regards, Richard

Congrats on your new rig Pitmatic!

So from 6 hours (GTX 1050) to 20 minutes (RTX 3060)

That is huge mate. Makes me wonder what the performance gain I would get from my current CPU (4790k) to your GPU. I render minimum 4 hours to get a decent result and still have a difficult time removing speckles and noise. DAZ should at least include Intel Denoiser for Mac users. I know there's a 3rd party script/app avaiable but I could never get it to work.

Your content loads quicker from the SSD but does that count for figures as well?

Put in another 32GB RAM and you are set for more then a few years. More future proof as well since you wont have to replace the 32GB stick to eventually get to 128GB total RAM. I dont think single or dual channel matter much these days, at least not like it used to. RGB lights should be easy enough to turn off.

I don't do big scenes as well. It depends though what people mean by big scenes, lots of figures, props and environments? I render single figures but Subd4, 4k or 8k textures, 2 or 3 lights, 4000x6000 res, 15000 samples. Closeup and realism is my thing in DAZ so everything (textures, hair, clothing, props) has to be perfect. The one thing that isn't perfect is the rig running DAZ so it's a constant waiting game, even in preview. You know what I'm talking about right ;)

Good to see you guys post about your upgrades so others know if it's worth it or not, thanks for the thread mate!

Very roughly loading times for figures off the ssd are about 3 or 4 times quicker than the old HDD so even doing that upgrade on an older syetm might help.
